Browser MCP — Control your real Chrome from AI

Browser MCP is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server + Chrome extension that gives AI tools like Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, and Windsurf direct access to your running Chrome browser.

Unlike Playwright MCP or other headless browser tools, Browser MCP uses YOUR existing Chrome — with your logins, cookies, and sessions already active. No more logging in every time.

NAVIGATION & CONTENT:
• Navigate to URLs (reuses tabs, no tab spam)
• Read page content (text or HTML)
• Take screenshots (works even when tab is in background)
• Execute JavaScript in page context

INTERACTION:
• Click elements (CSS selectors + text selectors)
• Fill form inputs (React + Angular compatible)
• Press keyboard keys with modifiers
• Scroll (works in React containers via CDP mouseWheel)
• Hover, select dropdowns, handle dialogs

CAPTCHA SOLVING (UNIQUE — no other browser MCP has this):
• Auto-detects reCAPTCHA v2/v3, hCaptcha, Cloudflare Turnstile, FunCaptcha
• Auto-clicks reCAPTCHA checkbox (~80% pass rate with Google login)
• AI vision analysis for image grid challenges
• Human fallback via overlay dialog

MULTI-SESSION:
• Run 10 concurrent AI sessions in one Chrome
• Each session gets its own color-coded Tab Group
• No conflicts between sessions

HUMAN-IN-THE-LOOP:
• Overlay dialogs for 2FA codes, credentials, CAPTCHA
• Your AI asks, you answer — supervised autonomy

DATA TOOLS:
• Get/set cookies and localStorage
• Capture console.log/warn/error messages
• Upload files via Chrome Debugger API (no dialog needed)

═══ ARCHITECTURE ═══

Chrome Extension (Manifest V3) → WebSocket → MCP Server (stdio)

Uses Chrome Debugger Protocol for real mouse/keyboard events that work on CSP-strict sites like Google Cloud, Stripe, and Angular Material apps.

═══ RUNS IN BACKGROUND ═══

Only the human-in-the-loop dialog (browser_ask_user) activates your tab. Everything else — clicks, fills, screenshots — runs without stealing focus.

Extension files auto-update when a new npm version is available. No manual reload needed.
