About
GitHubTrail is a browser extension for developers who live on GitHub. It automatically tracks your GitHub page visits and turns your browsing history into a searchable, organized knowledge base. KEY FEATURES Browsing History Automatically records every GitHub page you visit — repositories, issues, pull requests, discussions, commits, releases, profiles, and more. Never lose track of that repo you stumbled upon last week. Bookmarks & Notes Bookmark important repos and add research notes to any GitHub page. Attach tags and track read status (Unread, Reading, Read, Archived) across sessions. Smart Search Full-text search across your entire visit history with saved searches, filters by page type, time range, bookmark status, and read status. Analytics Dashboard Visualize your GitHub browsing patterns with interactive charts: daily visit trends, page type distribution, category breakdown, top repos and owners, tech stack map, and more. Repo Radar Discover insights from your browsing patterns — find hot repos you visit frequently, catch new releases from starred repos, and track trending research topics. Star Cross-analysis Cross-reference your starred repos with visit history to find high-value stars, stale bookmarks, and repos you should star but haven't. Cloud Sync Sync your data across devices via GitHub Repository, Supabase, Cloudflare D1, or Firebase. Choose your preferred backend. Recording Rules Fine-tune what gets recorded with page type filters, exclude/include patterns, day schedules, and temporary pause. PRIVACY All data is stored locally in your browser using IndexedDB. Cloud sync is optional and only activated when you configure a sync provider. No data is sent to any third-party server without your explicit configuration.
