About

JustBlockIt blocks websites that are designed to waste your time.

Unlimited list of sites. No account. No server. No data collection. No premium tier. No "upgrade for $4.99/month." It's a list of URLs stored on your machine. You don't need to pay for that. You never will.

— HOW IT WORKS —

Two block lists, because not all distractions are equal:

• Always Blocked — sites you never want to visit. These are blocked 24/7 as long as the extension is on.

• Scheduled — sites you're okay with sometimes, but not during work hours. Set the days and times, and they're blocked automatically during that window.

• Focus Mode — hit the button, pick a duration (25m / 50m / 90m or custom), and everything from both lists is blocked until the timer runs out. No exceptions.

When you try to visit a blocked site, you'll see a full-page reminder of why you blocked it. If you really need access, you can request 5 minutes, but there's a 5-second friction delay to make sure you actually mean it.

— WHY THIS EXISTS —
The best minds of our generation are thinking about how to make people click ads and stay engaged.
Billions of dollars are spent every year figuring out how to keep you scrolling.

This extension is a small, free tool to take some of that time back. It runs entirely on your browser. Nothing leaves your machine. There is no analytics, no telemetry, no server, no account, nothing.

— FEATURES —

✓ Two separate block lists (always + scheduled)
✓ Schedule blocking by day and time
✓ Focus mode timer (Pomodoro-friendly)
✓ Quick-add buttons
✓ Custom URL blocking for any site
✓ Blocked page with anti-attention-economy quotes
✓ Temporary 5-minute access with friction delay
✓ Dark UI
✓ 100% client-side, zero data collection
✓ Free. No premium. No ads. No catch.

— PERMISSIONS EXPLAINED —

This extension requests these permissions and nothing more:

• storage — to save your block lists and settings locally on your device
• declarativeNetRequest — to redirect blocked URLs to the blocked page
• tabs — to catch pages served from cache (some sites use aggressive caching that bypasses normal blocking)
• alarms — for the focus timer and schedule transitions
• host_permissions (<all_urls>) — needed to be able to block any URL you choose

We don't use these permissions to read your browsing data, track you, or send anything anywhere.
