    description
RSSext is a minimalist tool whose sole purpose is to catch and relay to you the signals of the RSS feeds you want.

This is not a reader! It shows you notifications and puts you in full control. You can easily pick what you want to read—directly on the publisher’s site—and what you don’t. The notifications are intelligently managed: if you miss one, there is a retry mechanism. However, if you ignore them longer than the retention time you set, they simply vanish.

In the true spirit of the original RSS protocol, YOU are in control, with no “un-read” debt and no algorithmic interference.

    KEY FEATURES
    - Soft Sentinel: Gentle notification system with a built-in retry logic.
    - Conceptual Shift: The counter represents your "fresh signal" reserve, not a "to-do list" of unread items.
    - Zero Debt: Articles evaporate after your defined retention time (TTL). No backlogs.
    - Privacy First: No tracking, no ads, no accounts. All data stays in your IndexedDB.
    - Frugal & Fast: ~80KB total. Built with 100% Vanilla JS for peak performance.
    - Sovereign Sync: Full OPML 2.0 support. Import/Export your sources freely.
    - Publisher Respect: No scraping. We send you straight to the source.
    - Accessibility: WCAG compliant, 17 languages, Zoom and Hue settings.
    - Open Source: Auditable source code on Github.

    DISCLAIMER
RSSext is a local utility. By using it, you acknowledge that your device will perform automated network requests proportional to your number of sources and polling frequency. This tool is tailored for a human scale of information; avoid overloading it. You are solely responsible for the URLs you monitor and any resulting internet data usage.

    FAQ
    How to add a source?
Click the extension icon on any site that has regular publications, then hit "Add Current." To add manually, use "Add Current" on any system page (like Options) to get a blank form.

How do I edit and delete my sources?
Switch to the "Sorted by Folder" list view in the main popup.

How do I import a large OPML without a notification avalanche?
Turn global notifications off before importing. Clear the list after the import is complete, then turn notifications back on.

    Where is my data?
Locally, in your browser's IndexedDB. No one else sees what you read.

    Why Flat Folders?
To prevent digital hoarding and keep your signal segments simple and direct.
