Clean Break helps you use Instagram and YouTube with fewer algorithmic distractions.

It is designed for people who still want access to useful social media and video content, but do not want to be pulled into Reels, Shorts, Explore pages, trending feeds, or endless recommendations.

What it does:
- Redirects Instagram Home to the Following feed
- Blocks Instagram Reels and Explore routes
- Provides a Stories Only mode that keeps Stories visible while hiding feed posts
- Hides obvious suggested, sponsored, and recommended Instagram blocks where possible
- Redirects YouTube Home, Shorts, Trending, and Explore-style pages to Subscriptions
- Hides YouTube Shorts, recommendation sidebars, watch-next areas, and end-screen suggestions
- Includes local settings for Clean Break modes and debugging

Clean Break does not delete content from Instagram or YouTube. It only hides or redirects distracting sections locally in your browser.

Privacy:
Clean Break does not collect, sell, or upload your browsing data. Settings are stored locally in your browser using extension storage. The extension only runs on Instagram and YouTube so it can apply the cleaner browsing rules on those sites.

Limitations:
