About
Caye Caulker is a hotspot for backpackers and budget travelers. This tiny island is surrounded by mangroves and coconut palms. Located approximately 24 km south of Ambergris Island. In 1961, Hurricane Hattie split the island in two. Created an area called Split, which is now a small public beach.
