**WHY CLOUD CLIPPER?**

Most web clippers save to their own servers, charge a monthly fee, and lock your notes into a proprietary format. Cloud Clipper is different. Everything goes straight to a folder in your own Google Drive as a standard Markdown (.md) file. You own it. You control it. It works with any Markdown editor.

**THREE CLIP MODES**

📄 **Article**
Strips ads, navigation, sidebars and clutter using Mozilla's Readability engine — the same technology that powers Firefox Reader View. What you get is the article, cleanly formatted, ready to read and reference.

✂️ **Selection**
Highlight any text on a page before clipping. Only your selection is saved — perfect for capturing a key quote, a passage you want to reference, or evidence you need to keep.

🔗 **Link**
Saves a rich bookmark card with the page thumbnail, title, description and a clickable link back to the original. A smart bookmark that lives in your Drive alongside your full clips.

**CLEAN MARKDOWN OUTPUT**

Every clip is saved as a properly formatted Markdown file including:

• Article title as H1 heading
• Author name (where available)
• Source URL with clickable link
• Publication date (where available)
• Clip date
• Your custom tag
• Hero image
• Pull quote description
• Full article body with headings, bold, links and lists preserved

The output is clean enough to drop straight into Obsidian, Folio, Notion, or any other Markdown editor without any cleanup.

**SAVE TO ANY FOLDER**

Set your preferred Google Drive folder name in Settings. Cloud Clipper will create it if it doesn't exist and save every clip there. Change it any time. Different folders for different projects — just update the name.

**LIGHT AND DARK MODE**

Cloud Clipper follows your system preference automatically, switching between light and dark mode as your system does. Override it manually with the toggle in the popup or settings at any time.

**PRIVACY FIRST**

Cloud Clipper has no backend server. No data ever touches our infrastructure. Your clips go directly from your browser to your own Google Drive account via Google's official API.

We request only the minimum Drive permission needed — access to files the extension creates. We do not read, modify or delete any other files in your Drive.
