Snap & Share is a lightweight Chrome extension that lets you drag-select any region of a webpage, captures it as a high-quality PNG, and gives you an instant public URL you can paste anywhere. No more digging through your Downloads folder. No more compressing images for chat. Just snip, share, and move on.

Click the Snap & Share icon in your Chrome toolbar.
The page dims and your cursor becomes a crosshair.

Drag a selection over the area you want to capture.
A magenta dashed marquee shows exactly what will be saved. Release the mouse to capture. Press Esc anytime to cancel.

A preview tab opens with your screenshot and three actions:
• Copy image — instantly paste it into Slack, email, Notion, anywhere.
• Download PNG — save a local file.
• Upload & get URL — receive a public shareable link in seconds.

That's it. No accounts, no signups, no setup required.

PRIVACY & WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

Honest disclosure — this matters:

• We do NOT collect any data. No tracking. No analytics. No accounts. Your captures stay on your device until you click "Upload."

• When you upload, your image is sent to the host you selected (catbox.moe by default). Anyone with the URL can view that image — that's how public sharing works.

• Don't upload anything sensitive, personal, or confidential to anonymous hosts. If you need private sharing, use a service like Google Drive or Dropbox instead.

• catbox.moe stores uploads anonymously and permanently. 0x0.st storage time depends on file size. ImgBB ties uploads to your account.

• The extension requests the "activeTab" permission — it only sees the tab you're currently on when you click the icon. It does NOT read your browsing history or other tabs.

WHAT IT DOESN'T DO (YET)
═══════════════════════════════

We're upfront about limitations:

• Snap & Share captures the visible viewport only. Full-page scrolling capture isn't supported in this version.

• It doesn't run on chrome:// pages, the Chrome Web Store, the PDF viewer, or other internal pages — Chrome blocks all extensions from those contexts.

• No built-in annotation tools (arrows, text, blur). If you need those, capture with Snap & Share and edit in your favorite image editor before sharing.

Install the extension.
Pin it to your toolbar so the icon is always visible (Chrome puzzle-piece menu → pin Snap & Share).
Open any normal webpage.
Click the icon, drag to capture, hit Upload & Share.
That's the entire workflow. The first time you use it, you'll wonder why your browser didn't ship with this built in.
