About

This app is designed to help you quickly extract one or more pages from a PDF document and save them as a new, separate file. One of the app's strengths is its ease of use. You don't need to spend time studying instructions or the interface to get results. The entire process of extracting pages from a PDF document is intuitive. Another advantage of this extension is that files are not transferred anywhere; all processing occurs locally. Therefore, the app is suitable for working with any data. The user doesn't have to take additional risks or worry about the privacy of their data.

The process of creating a new file is extremely simple and consists of the following steps:
1. Launch the Extract Pages From PDF extension. This will open a new window with an interface for selecting the source PDF file.
2. Select the source PDF file from your hard drive or drag it into the frame indicated by the dotted line. If everything is successful, the app will display information about the PDF file, including its size and number of pages. Below are two fields for entering the first and last page numbers.
3. In the fields that appear, specify the first and last pages to be cut from the original document and placed in the new file. For example, if you want to cut pages 3 through 5, enter those numbers in the corresponding fields. If you only want to cut one page, enter that page number in both fields.
4. Save the resulting file by clicking the "Save" button. The new file is then saved to the default folder. You can use your browser's save icon to save the opened file to a different location.

The new file's name is formed by adding an underscore, the word "pages," and the page numbers of the original document. For example, if pages 3 through 5 were cut from the original document and the original file was named "example.pdf," the new file would be named "example_pages_3-5.pdf." If you were saving just one page, such as the first page, the new file would be named "example_page_1.pdf."

If necessary, you can select a different page range by clicking the "Extract Another Range" button. If you need to upload a different file, use the appropriate button or drag the desired file into the upload area at the top of the program.

When using the application, neither the original nor the new file is transferred anywhere; all processing is performed on your computer, ensuring data privacy.
This approach also speeds up the process of creating a new document.

Potential Problems and Solutions

The original file cannot be opened.
After selecting the file, a message appears: "File might be corrupted or in an unsupported format." Verify that the file is indeed a PDF file and opens in a PDF viewer.

The file cannot be uploaded.
After selecting the file, a message appears: "File is encrypted." Unfortunately, the application cannot work with encrypted files.

The required pages cannot be specified.
Make sure the correct page range of the PDF document is specified. If non-existent pages are entered, the application highlights the corresponding field with a red border and may also display the messages: "Please enter a valid page range" and "Invalid page number."

Unable to extract required pages.
If you receive the message "Failed to extract pages" when attempting to extract required pages, we recommend contacting technical support.

Unable to save the resulting file.
Verify that you have permission to save files to the default folder. Unable to find the resulting file with the extracted pages. After clicking the "Download Extracted PDF" button, a download icon should appear in the upper right corner of the browser. Click it to view the downloaded files. Use the "Show in folder" icon to the right of the file name.

If, despite all efforts, you are unable to resolve your issue, please send a description of the problem to the technical support email address.
