About
Export Slack channel members to CSV in one click.
Slack Channel Member Exporter adds an "Export members CSV" button to the Slack web app - open any channel you have joined, click the button, and a CSV of every member downloads to your machine in seconds.
Slack does not include a built-in way to export the members of a channel. Slack Channel Member Exporter fills that gap with a single click. No setup. No OAuth app to install in your workspace. No admin approval. No API tokens to paste.
WHAT IT DOES
Adds an "Export members CSV" button directly inside the Slack web app at app.slack.com. Click it on any channel you belong to and a CSV of every member of that channel downloads to your machine. The file is named after the channel and the current date - for example, slack-design-leads-members-2026-05-28.csv.
There is no popup, no settings dialog, no signup, no account creation, no login screen, no email collection. Click. CSV. Done.
MADE FOR
For the moment when someone asks "can you send me a list of who is in #design-leads?" and you realize Slack does not give you a button to do that.
• Community managers building roster snapshots of public Slack channels and tracking month-over-month growth
• Sales and Revenue Operations teams pulling contact lists out of shared customer or partner Slack groups, syncing into Salesforce, HubSpot, Outreach, or Apollo
• Recruiters and sourcers building candidate pipelines from professional Slack communities, alumni networks, and industry working groups
• HR and people operations syncing channel membership into HRIS systems (BambooHR, Rippling, Gusto) or HR spreadsheets
• Developer relations teams tracking who is in a customer #partners channel, a beta program channel, or a contributors channel
• Marketing and growth teams capturing audience lists from community channels for product launch announcements and event invitations
• Founders and operators migrating Slack data into a CRM, a contact database, a mailing list provider, or a BI tool
• Investors and VC firms exporting portfolio company shared-channel rosters into Affinity, Attio, or another CRM
• Customer success teams pulling shared customer channel membership for quarterly business review prep
• Event organizers exporting the attendee list of an event-specific Slack channel for follow-up emails
• Anyone who has ever Googled "how do I export Slack channel members to CSV"
KEY FEATURES
• One-click export from any channel you have joined - public, private, or shared
• Works in any Slack workspace you are signed into in your browser
• Uses your existing logged-in Slack session - no OAuth app, no admin approval, no API tokens to manage
• Cleanly named files (slack-channelname-members-YYYY-MM-DD.csv) so repeated exports stay organized
• Live progress indicator on larger channels ("Fetched 47/120 profiles…")
• Local processing - the CSV is assembled in your browser and downloads directly to your machine
CSV FIELDS
• real_name - the member's full name as configured in Slack
• display_name - the member's display name (the one shown next to their messages)
Each member becomes one row. The first row is the header.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Install Slack Channel Member Exporter from the Chrome Web Store.
2. Open Slack in your browser at app.slack.com and click into any channel you belong to.
3. Click the green "Export members CSV" button in the top-right of the page.
4. The CSV downloads to your default browser downloads folder. Open it in Excel, Numbers, Google Sheets, or any tool that reads CSV files.
That is the entire workflow.
WHAT YOU CAN DO WITH THE CSV
• Import into a CRM (Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Attio, Affinity, Close) as a new list
• Cross-reference against an existing contact database to find overlap
• Build a weekly or monthly community report
• Feed into an enrichment tool (Clearbit, Apollo, ZoomInfo) to find emails and LinkedIn profiles
• Diff two exports from different dates to detect joiners and leavers
• Build an attendance ledger for a recurring Slack-based event
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Does it work for private channels?
A: Yes - as long as you are a member of the channel. The extension uses your Slack session, so it sees what you can see.
Q: Does it work for channels I have not joined?
A: No. Slack does not expose member lists of channels you have not joined to any tool. You must be in the channel to export it.
Q: Does it work for Slack Connect shared channels with external organizations?
A: Yes - shared channels behave the same as regular channels for member listing.
Q: Do I need a Slack admin to install anything?
A: No. There is no Slack app to add to the workspace, no OAuth approval flow, no scope review.
Q: How long does an export take?
A: Small channels (under 100 members): seconds. A few hundred: under a minute. Thousands: a minute or two, limited by Slack's rate limit on the underlying users.info API.
Q: Does it work in the Slack desktop app?
A: No. Slack web app at app.slack.com only. Open Slack in a browser tab.
Q: Does it work in Firefox, Safari, or Edge?
A: Chrome and Chromium-based browsers (Arc, Brave, Vivaldi, Edge) today. A Firefox version is on the roadmap.
PRIVACY
The extension uses your existing Slack web session. It reads your workspace API token from your own browser's localStorage and calls Slack's public Web API on your behalf. The CSV is assembled in your browser and downloads to your local machine. There is no analytics, no telemetry, no third-party SDK, and no remote logging. The full privacy policy is linked on this listing.
