About

Ever reopen a tab and think — wait, why did I come here again? Remember Why fixes that.

Remember Why gives every website its own sticky note. Jot down why you're there, and the next time you visit that site, your note quietly resurfaces right on the page — so you never lose the thread.

  • amazon.com → "Buy the SSD next month."
  • github.com → "Check Issue #53."
  • linkedin.com → "Message John after the interview."

WHAT YOU CAN DO
• One note per site — automatically tied to the domain, and shown again when you return.
• Rich text — bold, italic, underline, bullet and numbered lists.
• Checklists — add quick to-dos per site and tick them off.
• Reminders — pick a date and time and get a desktop notification; click it to reopen the site.
• Search — instantly search across every note's title, site, text, and checklist items.
• Export — back everything up as JSON or Markdown, anytime.
• All-notes view — see every note at once in a clean dashboard, right from the toolbar.
• Colours — organise notes with seven colour options at a glance.

STAYS OUT OF YOUR WAY
The note lives in an isolated layer that floats on top of the page, so it never changes how a website looks or behaves. A small pin sits in the corner — click it when you need it, ignore it when you don't.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Your notes are stored in your own browser using Chrome's built-in storage — there's no account to create and nothing is sent to any third-party server. If you're signed into Chrome, your notes automatically sync across your devices through your Google account, so the same notes follow you from laptop to desktop.

Remember Why is free, needs no sign-up, and asks only for the permissions it actually uses: storage, alarms, and notifications.

Install it, open any website, and click the yellow pin to leave yourself a note. Your future self will thank you.
