Hindsight — Search Page Content History

Ever visited a page and couldn't find it again because you only
remember what it said, not where it was?

Hindsight indexes the text content of every page you visit and lets
you search through it instantly. Unlike Chrome's built-in history
(which only searches titles and URLs), Hindsight searches the actual
content of pages you've read.

HOW IT WORKS
- As you browse, Hindsight quietly reads and indexes page content
- Click the Hindsight icon to open the search side panel
- Type what you remember — even partial or misspelled words work
- Results show the page title, URL, snippet, and when you visited

SMART SEARCH
- Fuzzy matching: finds results even with typos
- Natural language: "that article about react hooks" just works
- Content search: find pages by what they said, not just their title
- Prefix matching: start typing and results appear instantly

PRIVACY FIRST
- All data stored locally in your browser — never sent anywhere
- Zero network requests — works completely offline
- No analytics, no telemetry, no tracking
- Not active in Incognito mode
- Uninstall to delete all data instantly

PERMISSIONS
Hindsight needs access to page content to index it for search.

KNOWN LIMITATIONS (v1)
- No PDF or image content extraction
- No cross-device sync
- No export/import of indexed data
- Search index rebuilds if browser storage is cleared
- Very long pages are truncated to first 2,500 characters
