About

Covidence AI Screener adds an AI-assisted second opinion to title-and-abstract screening on Covidence. On any screening page it places an "✦ AI" button next to the Yes/No/Maybe vote buttons. Click it and the study's title and abstract are checked against your screening prompt by an AI model, returning a clear Yes/No call, a confidence score, and a one-line reason — shown right under the vote buttons.

It uses your own OpenRouter API key, so you stay in control of the model and the cost. Enter your key once on the Options page; the default screening prompt is pre-filled and fully editable to match your review's inclusion criteria.

Features:
- One-click AI verdict (Yes/No + confidence % + reason) on each study card
- "Screen all" runs every unscreened study on the page in sequence
- Verdicts are cached locally, so revisiting a study costs no extra API calls
- Options dashboard: screened / Yes / No counts and average confidence
- Export all verdicts to CSV
- Fully editable screening prompt

Privacy: the extension has no servers of its own. The title and abstract you screen are sent only to OpenRouter (with your API key) to generate the verdict; your key and prompt are stored in your browser. See the privacy policy for details.

This is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Covidence / Veritas Health Innovation, or OpenRouter. A Covidence account is required to use it, and an OpenRouter account/key is required for the AI calls.
