HOW IT WORKS

This extension is a thin bridge between your browser and the Zeta Download Manager desktop application. When a download matches your configured file types, the extension hands the URL, filename, referrer, and cookies to the desktop engine over a private local channel. The engine then opens up to 16 parallel connections and writes the segments directly to disk — no proxying, no re-uploading, no third-party servers in the middle.

PRIVACY

Zeta is built around a strict local-only design.

— No data collection. The extension does not collect, store, log, or transmit any personal information, browsing history, or download metadata.
— No external servers. All communication happens on the local machine, between the extension and the Zeta desktop application over a loopback (127.0.0.1) channel.
— No analytics, no telemetry, no third-party scripts.
— Cookies are read only at the moment of a download and only for the URL being downloaded, so authenticated links resume correctly. They are not stored or transmitted anywhere else.
