About
Ryze Browser Helper is a lightweight companion extension for the Ryze LinkedIn automation platform. HOW IT WORKS When you install Ryze Browser Helper, it silently monitors your LinkedIn session state in the background. The moment it detects that you have signed into LinkedIn, it securely passes that session to the Ryze desktop app using Chrome's Native Messaging API — a secure, OS-mediated communication channel that is built into Chrome and managed by your operating system. No website, browser extension, or third party can intercept or access this channel. The extension has no visible UI, no content scripts, and no interaction with LinkedIn pages. It simply bridges your browser's LinkedIn session to the locally-running Ryze desktop app on the same machine. WHAT IT DOESN'T DO Ryze Browser Helper does not: • Collect, store, or transmit any personal data to remote servers • Read, modify, or interact with LinkedIn page content • Run advertisements or tracking scripts • Share any data with third parties • Operate independently of the Ryze desktop app PRIVACY Your LinkedIn session cookies are transmitted only over the secure Native Messaging channel directly to the Ryze desktop application running on your local machine. They never leave your computer and are never sent to Ryze servers or any third party. The extension stores only a minimal pairing token in Chrome's local storage so it can identify the correct Ryze installation across browser restarts. REQUIREMENTS Requires the Ryze Desktop App v0.1.0 or later, available at ryze.so. The extension does nothing on its own — it must be paired with the desktop app to function. PERMISSION JUSTIFICATIONS • cookies (linkedin.com): Required to detect when you sign in or out of LinkedIn so the Ryze desktop app can stay in sync with your session. The extension reads only the presence/absence of the LinkedIn session cookie — it does not read cookie values for any other purpose or send them to any remote server. • nativeMessaging: Required to communicate with the locally-installed Ryze desktop application. Uses Chrome's official Native Messaging API — a secure, OS-protected communication channel that requires explicit installation of a native host manifest by the user. No data leaves the local machine through this channel. • storage: Required to store your pairing settings (the native host identifier and a local pairing token) between the extension and the Ryze desktop app across browser sessions. No personal data is stored. SUPPORT For help, visit ryze.so or email [email protected].
