About

## Title
Sanskrit Aid — Word Analysis & Pronunciation

## Short Description (132 chars max)
Hover over any Sanskrit word for instant declension tables, sandhi splitting, grammatical analysis, and native pronunciation audio.

## Detailed Description

Sanskrit Aid helps you read Sanskrit texts on the web by providing instant word-level analysis. Select any Devanagari word on any webpage to see:

**Declension Families**
See the complete paradigm for any noun — all cases, all numbers. Not just the form in context, but its entire family. Powered by Vidyut, a Paninian grammar engine, covering 120+ paradigms and 1,700+ word forms.

**Sandhi & Compound Splitting**
Sanskrit's sandhi system joins words in ways that make them hard to recognize. This extension splits compounds automatically, showing you each component with its individual grammatical analysis. Uses a two-tier system: sanskrit-parser for simple splits, Dharmamitra for deep compounds.

**Audio Pronunciation**
Click the speaker icon to hear any word pronounced by a native-quality AI voice. Powered by ai4bharat's indic-parler-tts model, optimized specifically for Sanskrit (99.79% Native Speaker Score). Audio is cached for instant replay.

**Grammatical Analysis**
For each word, see:
- Gender, number, and case
- Stem form and suffix
- Position in the declension paradigm
- Related forms across the paradigm

**Built for Learners**
This extension was built by a Sanskrit learner, for Sanskrit learners. Whether you're reading the Ramayana, the Bhagavad Gita, or modern Sanskrit texts online, this tool helps you understand the grammar behind every word.

Works on any website with Devanagari text. No account required. No data collected.
