GSC Regex Presets gives you one-click access to ready-made regex patterns for Google Search Console filters. If you've ever stared at the "Custom (regex)" input in GSC and blanked on the syntax, this extension is for you.

WHO THIS IS FOR

SEO professionals, digital marketers, content strategists, and site owners who use Google Search Console's Performance report regularly. Whether you're segmenting queries by search intent, isolating brand vs. non-brand traffic, or filtering for long-tail keywords — you've probably written (or Googled) the same regex patterns dozens of times. This extension puts them one click away.

HOW IT WORKS

Click the extension icon to open a compact popup with three tabs:

PRESETS TAB
Browse a library of pre-built regex patterns organized into four categories:


Query Intent: Filter for question queries (who/what/how), commercial intent (buy/price/best/review), informational queries (how to/guide/tutorial), and local intent (near me/nearby).
Brand Management: Instantly exclude or isolate your brand terms. Enter your brand words once in Settings; the extension generates the correct regex automatically.
Word Structure: Segment by query length — long-tail keywords (4+ words) or short head terms (1-2 words).
Page Path: Filter by URL patterns like /blog/ or /product/ pages.


Each preset shows a tooltip explaining what it matches, with real examples. Click any preset to copy the regex to your clipboard, then paste it into GSC.

COMBINER TAB — QUICK MODE
Check multiple preset conditions and the extension combines them into a single regex. For example, check "Question words" and "Exclude brand" to generate a regex that finds non-brand question queries in one step.

COMBINER TAB — CUSTOM CONDITION BUILDER
Build regex visually without knowing regex syntax. Add condition rows using dropdowns:


Condition types: Starts with, Contains, Does not contain, Ends with, Words >= N, Words <= N, or Custom regex (for advanced users).
Logic operators: AND, OR, AND NOT between conditions.
Values: Enter keywords separated by commas.


The regex generates in real time as you adjust conditions. Save your creation as a custom preset for future use.

SETTINGS TAB


Brand Terms: Enter your brand words (comma-separated). Brand inclusion/exclusion presets update automatically across the extension.
Custom Presets: Create, edit, and delete your own regex presets. Assign them to categories for organized access.
GSC Page Injection: Toggle an optional quick-access panel that appears inside GSC's filter dialog when you select regex mode. Click a preset button to fill the input directly — no copy-paste needed.
Import/Export: Save your entire configuration (custom presets, brand terms, preferences) as a JSON file. Share it with teammates or transfer it to another device.


ADDITIONAL FEATURES

Dark and Light Theme: Switch between themes to match your preference. The setting syncs across devices.

English and Chinese Interface: Full bilingual support. Toggle between EN and ZH with one click. All UI labels, tooltips, and descriptions switch instantly. Regex patterns themselves remain universal.

Cross-Device Sync: All settings, custom presets, and preferences are stored via Chrome's built-in sync storage. Log into Chrome on another device and your presets are already there.

PRIVACY

This extension does not collect, transmit, or share any user data. Zero analytics. Zero tracking. All data stays in your browser's local sync storage tied to your own Google account.

PERMISSIONS EXPLAINED


Storage: Saves your preferences, custom presets, and brand terms locally.
Clipboard Write: Copies regex patterns when you click a preset.
Active Tab: Detects when you're on Google Search Console to enable the optional in-page panel.
Host Permission (search.google.com/search-console): The content script that powers the optional quick-access panel inside GSC. Scoped exclusively to Search Console — the extension cannot access any other website.
