About

Trading and Backtesting Assistant for TradingView

🎯 What This Extension Does
- Transform your TradingView charts into a complete trading workspace with three powerful modes designed for serious traders:

📊 Backtest Mode
- Efficiently log and track your TradingView backtests with a floating control panel that integrates seamlessly with your charts.

Key Features:
- Quick Entry Logging - Click to log entry points with customizable date/time, price levels, stop loss, and take profit targets
- Smart Exit Tracking - One-click buttons for Stop Loss, Take Profit 1, Take Profit 2, and Manual Exit scenarios
- Multiple Strategy Support - Create unlimited strategies and switch between them instantly
- Automatic Performance Calculation - Tracks win/loss ratios, R-multiples, position splits, and returns
- CSV Export - Download your complete backtest data to Excel or copy directly to Google Sheets
- Draggable & Resizable Panel - Position the control panel anywhere on your screen and customize its size
- Minimizable Interface - Collapse the panel to maximize chart space when needed

🆕 Experimental Autofill Feature:
- The extension now includes an optional autofill feature that automatically populates your entry form by reading data directly from your TradingView chart!
- How to Enable Autofill:
- Add the Trade Entry Logger indicator to your TradingView chart from this link:
- Click on your chart to set Entry Price, Stop Loss, Take Profit 1, and optionally Take Profit 2.
- You can drag the lines to the needed levels to avoid writing down numbers all the time.
- If you get an error, make sure there is some number set for Take Profit 2 in the indicator (could be 1, 5, does not matter) even if you do not use it, because the number 0 confuses the system.
- When you click "Log Entry" in the extension, it will automatically detect and fill in these values along with the current candle date/time
- Simply review and confirm the autofilled data
- Note: This feature is currently experimental. You can always manually enter data if you prefer. Make sure you take a look at the numbers and see they are correct.

📝 Journal Mode
A complete real-trading journal for live trading with professional statistics tracking.
Features:
- Comprehensive Trade Entry - Log ticker, setup type, entry date/time, price levels, and number of contracts
- Daily Journal Entries - Write observations, emotions, and analysis for each trading day
- Live Statistics Dashboard - Track total trades, win rate, average R-multiple, account balance, and P/L
- Account Balance Tracking - Monitors your account growth/decline over time
- Risk Management - Calculates risk percentage per trade based on account balance
- Advanced Filtering - Filter trades by date, setup, or custom criteria
- Export & Download - Export trades to Excel or download all journal entries as text files

⏰ Candle Timer Mode
Never miss a candle close again with a customizable countdown timer and alarm system.
Features:
- Multi-Timeframe Support - Works with 1M, 5M, 15M, 30M, 1H, 4H, and Daily candles
- Customizable Alarms - Set audio alerts seconds before candle close (default: 45 seconds)
- Visual Countdown - Real-time countdown display showing time remaining until next candle
- Badge Notifications - Optional badge counter on extension icon
- Sound Alerts - Audio notification when alarm triggers
- Persistent Timing - Timer continues running even when popup is closed

🎨 Customization Options
- Dark & Light Themes - Match your TradingView theme preference
- Position Split Settings - Configure default position sizing for partial exits
- Show Dollar Results - Toggle P/L display in dollars vs R-multiples
- Panel Positioning - Drag and resize the control panel to your preferred location
- Minimize State - Panel remembers your size and minimize preferences

🔒 Privacy & Security
- No Data Collection - All data stored locally in your browser
- No External Servers - Your trading data is on your PC only

Changelog:

NEW:
- ADDED Position Size Calculator
- ADDED AUTOFILL functionality for the data, so you do not have to write it. Saves time and lowers the probability of error when writing a wrong number manually

NOTE:
If you are using trailing stop like MSB, MAs flip, etc. and you do not have a pre-determined TP level, you can enter random (appropriate for the trade direction) number in the TP field and then exit the trade with manual exit when your exit rule is fullfilled.

Known bugs:
In backtesting mode exit reason says "Stop Loss" even when stop is hit AFTER TP1. Likely logs the last exit button. DOES NOT DISRUPT THE RESULTS.

Privacy Policy for Trading and Backtesting Assistant

Last Updated: 23rd of March 2026

## Data Collection and Storage
The Trading and Backtesting Assistant extension collects and stores the trading data that you manually input during your backtesting and journaling sessions. This includes trade entry/exit prices, stop loss levels, take profit targets, timestamps, journal entries, and timer settings.

### Local Storage
All trading data collected by this extension is stored exclusively on your local device using Chrome's built-in storage.local API. Your trading data never leaves your browser and is not transmitted to any external servers or third parties. The only way trading data leaves your device is when you explicitly export it using the built-in export functions.

### Device Identifier
To manage your free trial and subscription status, the extension generates an anonymous device identifier. This identifier:
- Contains no personally identifiable information
- Cannot be reverse-engineered to determine your hardware specifications
- Is used solely to track your trial usage and subscription status
- Is transmitted to our subscription server when checking access and logging backtest usage

### Subscription Server
The extension communicates with our server for the following purposes only:
- Verifying whether your free trial has remaining backtests, recording backtests, checking your subscription status (active, expired, or cancelled), creating a payment session when you choose to subscribe

The server stores: your anonymous device identifier, the number of trial backtests used, your subscription status, and your Stripe customer ID (if you subscribe). The server does not store any of your trading data, journal entries, or personal information.

## Payments
The extension uses Stripe (https://stripe.com) to process subscription payments. When you choose to subscribe:
- You are redirected to a Stripe-hosted checkout page
- All payment information (card number, billing address) is collected and processed exclusively by Stripe
- We never see, handle, or store your payment card details
- Stripe may collect data in accordance with their own privacy policy (https://stripe.com/privacy)
- Your Stripe customer ID is stored on our server to link your payment to your device identifier

You can cancel your subscription at any time through Stripe's customer portal. Upon cancellation, your access continues until the end of the current billing period.

## Data Sharing
We do not sell, share, or provide your data to any third parties. The only external communications are:
- Between the extension and our subscription server (for trial/subscription management only)
- Between the extension and Stripe (only when you initiate a payment)

## Data Access and Control
You maintain complete control over your data. You can view all stored trades in the extension popup, edit individual trades, export your data, or clear all data at any time using the built-in clear functions.

## Permissions
The extension requires the following permissions, as specified in the manifest.json file:

1. **activeTab**: Allows the extension to interact with the currently active TradingView tab. Necessary for injecting the logging panel into the TradingView interface and capturing price data.

2. **storage**: Enables the extension to save your trade data, journal entries, timer settings, and subscription status locally in your browser.

3. **clipboardWrite**: Required for the "Copy to Sheets" functionality, which allows you to copy your trade data to the clipboard for pasting into spreadsheet applications.

4. **host_permissions** (for https://*.tradingview.com/ and our subscription server): Ensures that the extension's content scripts only run on TradingView websites, and allows communication with our subscription server for access control.

5. **alarms**: Required to schedule and manage candle timer events.

6. **offscreen**: Required to play alarm sounds when timers reach their trigger point.

7. **notifications**: Required to display alerts for candle closing times.

## Updates to Privacy Policy
Any changes to this privacy policy will be reflected in an updated version included with extension updates.
