About

Tajdîn is a compact Chrome extension for discovering and playing internet radio stations through the open Radio Browser directory (radio-browser.info). Keep a familiar player on your toolbar: browse stations, save favourites, build playlists, and listen while you work—with playback that continues in the background when the popup is closed.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

• Browse & search — Find stations by name using exact or advanced search, filter by language, and explore random stations for discovery. A curated Kurdish station list is included for quick access alongside Radio Browser results.

• Favorites — Heart stations you love and open them anytime from the Favs tab.

• Playlists — Create ordered lists, reorder stations, play from any row, and let Tajdîn move forward when a stream fails (when you’re playing from a playlist).

• Custom stations — Add your own stream URLs in settings for stations that aren’t in the directory.

• Background playback — Audio runs in an offscreen player so Chrome can keep the stream running after you close the popup.

• Controls — Use keyboard shortcuts (including media keys where Chrome allows) for play/pause, next/previous station, and mute. Assign extra shortcuts in chrome://extensions/shortcuts. OS media keys and lock-screen controls may work when the browser exposes them for the active session.

• Settings — Choose theme and popup size, tune defaults, and export or import your data as JSON (merge or replace) for backup or moving to another profile.

• Accessible feedback — Short on-screen messages when playback or loading fails, plus optional welcome tips you can dismiss.

Listeners who want a simple, privacy-conscious radio companion tied to a public station database—not a closed catalog.

REQUIREMENTS

Chrome 116 or newer. An internet connection is required for station metadata and streams.

Radio Browser is a community-maintained project; stream availability and quality depend on each station’s broadcaster, not Tajdîn.
