    description
Turn any web page into a rainy windshield — and wipe it clean with a click.

Lifelike water drops trickle down your screen with real refraction, fog gradually rolls in, and a friendly wiper button at the bottom-right (or the ESC
key) sweeps everything clean in a satisfying arc. A small playful effect for the cozy moments of your day.

      ▼ Great for
      • Adding rainy ambience to your browsing
      • Quiet rain sounds while you work
      • A small moment of calm, or a fun demo accent

      ▼ Features

      🌧️ Realistic rain rendering
        • SVG-lens refraction on every droplet
        • Sliding drops leave wet trails the wiper progressively clears
        • Fog builds up over time and dissolves smoothly after each wipe

⛈️ 7 intensity types (manual or automatic)
        • Drizzle / Light / Rain / Heavy / Downpour / Thunderstorm / Snow
        • Thunderstorms include lightning flashes and synthesized thunder

      🌍 Sync with real weather
        • Set your location and Open-Meteo (free, no API key) checks the weather every 30 minutes
        • Rain turns on automatically when it's raining outside, off when it stops

      🚗 Wiper and AUTO mode
        • Click the button or press ESC for a manual wipe
        • Double-click to enable AUTO mode (rain-sensing automatic wipes)
        • Choose between tandem and opposed dual-blade layouts

      🪶 Lite mode
        • Drops backdrop-filter / GPU layers so the extension can coexist with video playback on the same machine
        • Same look-and-feel, dramatically lower CPU usage

      🎬 Video-friendly mode
        • Lightens just the page-wide fog overlay; droplets keep their full quality
        • Perfect when you want rain alongside video

      🔊 Three independent volume sliders
        • Separate Rain / Wiper / Thunder controls
        • Mute thunder for quiet evenings while keeping the ambient rain

      👁️ Three-level button visibility
        • "Auto-hide" (default): completely invisible, only appears when your cursor approaches the corner
        • "Always show": faintly visible, full opacity on hover
        • "Hidden": gone entirely (ESC and AUTO mode still work)

      🛡️ Privacy
        • Your location is only sent to Open-Meteo (open-source, free weather API) for weather checks
        • No tracking, no analytics, no third-party servers
        • All settings stored locally in your browser

      ▼ How to use
      • Toggle rain per tab from the popup ("Toggle rain on this tab")
      • Click the bottom-right button → manual wipe
      • Double-click → toggle AUTO mode
      • Long-press (550 ms) → toggle Lite mode
      • Shift-click → toggle sound on/off
      • Drag the button to reposition it anywhere

      ▼ Notes
      • Doesn't work on chrome:// or Web Store pages (Chrome's restriction)
      • Older browsers without backdrop-filter support won't show full refraction

Have a cozy rainy day 🌧️
    ● A playful Chrome extension that brings real-looking rain to your browser.

Watch droplets bead up on your screen like a window, the view gradually fogs over, and a wiper-button click (or ESC) sweeps it clean. That satisfying moment of clearing is the whole point.

          ▼ Good for
          ・Browsing in a rainy-day mood
・Soft background rain sound while you work
・A small break, or as a demo accent

          ▼ Main features

          🌧️ Real-looking rain
・SVG lens refraction — drops bend the page behind them
・Drops have organic, irregular shapes (no stamped-circle look)
・Sliding drops leave wet trails that the wiper progressively clears
・Fog thickens over time and slowly returns after a sweep
・Drop arrivals are synced to the rhythm of the rain audio

⛈️ 6 intensity levels (manual switch supported)
           ・Light rain / Rain / Heavy / Downpour / Thunder / Snow
・Thunder mode plays lightning flashes and thunder claps
・Snow mode gives a frosted, "icy window" cloudy effect

          🌍 Real-weather sync
・Set a location and it polls Open-Meteo (free, no API key) every 30 min
・Auto-on when it's raining there, auto-off when it stops

          🚗 Wiper and AUTO mode
・Click the bottom-right button or hit ESC to wipe
・Double-click for AUTO mode (auto-wipes based on rain intensity)
・Switch between tandem and opposed two-blade layouts

          🪶 Lite mode
・Drops the backdrop-filter entirely when the GPU is busy (e.g. video)
・Simpler look, but big drop in CPU usage

          🎬 Video-friendly mode
・Lightens the fog only — drop visuals stay rich
・For when you want rain over a video without the fog cost

          🔊 Three independent volume sliders
・Rain sound / Wiper sound / Thunder sound, each controlled separately
・Mute thunder for a bedroom session, keep the rain ambience

          👁️ Bottom-right button — 3 visibility modes
・"Auto-hide" (default): invisible until your cursor approaches
・"Always shown": faint at rest, opaque on hover
・"Completely hidden": gone entirely (ESC and AUTO mode still work)

          🛡️ Privacy
・Location is used only to query Open-Meteo (open-source, free API)
           ・No tracking, no external transmission
・All settings stored locally in your browser

          ▼ Controls
・Per-tab ON/OFF (popup "Rain on this tab" button)
・Click the bottom-right button → run the wiper
          ・Double-click → toggle AUTO mode
          ・Long-press (550 ms) → toggle Lite mode
          ・Shift+click → toggle sound
・Drag the button anywhere you like

          ▼ Notes
・Doesn't run on chrome:// or Chrome Web Store pages (browser restriction)
・Older browsers without backdrop-filter support will miss the refraction effect

          Enjoy your rainy day 🌧️

    description
A browser extension that just makes rain fall on your browser. It is genuinely useless.

    ■ What it does
    - Realistic raindrops form on the page (background subtly blurs through them)
    - Pick from drizzle, light rain, rain, heavy rain, downpour, thunderstorm, or snow
    - Press the wiper button at the bottom-right and a wiper sweeps it all away
    - ESC key also triggers the wiper
    - Optional real-weather sync (turns rain on automatically based on your saved location)
    - Rain and wiper sounds, with independent volume sliders
    - Lite mode for low-end machines (long-press the wiper button)

    ■ Controls
    - Click the extension icon → settings (rain type, location, volume)
    - Wiper button at the bottom-right of the page → click to wipe
    - ESC key → wipe
    - Shift-click wiper button → toggle sound
    - Double-click wiper button → toggle auto-wiper
    - Long-press wiper button → toggle lite mode

    ■ About real-weather sync
Optionally uses Open-Meteo's free weather API.
Only the location name you entered is transmitted. No personal identifiers are sent.
If you do not enable this option, no network requests are made.

    ■ Known limitations
    - Does not run on chrome://, Chrome Web Store, and a few other restricted URLs (Chrome platform restriction)
    - Maximum of 60 raindrops on screen (performance safeguard)
    - backdrop-filter may not work in older browsers

    ■ Privacy
    - No browsing history, form input, or cookies are collected
    - Data is only sent to Open-Meteo (weather + geocoding)
    - See the privacy policy for details
