About
Holler — Highlight. Listen. Learn. Select any text on any webpage and hear it read aloud instantly. Holler is a free, private text-to-speech extension with no accounts, no subscriptions, and zero data collection. Features: Word-by-word highlighting — follow along as each word is spoken • Auto-scroll — the page follows the reading so you never lose your place • Focus mode — dims everything except the sentence being read • Sticky mini player — control playback from anywhere on the page • Audio export — save any reading as a downloadable audio file • Adjustable speed — from 0.5× to 3× with fine control • Voice selection — works with system voices, enhanced OS voices, and the Kokoro TTS Engine extension for neural-quality speech • Keyboard shortcuts — Alt+Shift+R to read, Alt+Shift+S to stop • Right-click menu — select text, right-click, "Read with Holler" Privacy first: Holler collects no data. No analytics, no telemetry, no accounts, no tracking. Your preferences are stored locally on your device and never leave it. The extension makes zero network requests. Better voices — free: Install the "Kokoro TTS Engine" extension from the Chrome Web Store for studio-quality neural voices that run entirely in your browser. Or use your OS's enhanced voices (macOS Spoken Content, Windows 11 Natural voices). No setup needed — Holler detects them automatically. Perfect for: • Proofreading your own writing • Accessibility and reading assistance • Multitasking — listen while you work • Language learning and pronunciation • Long articles you'd rather hear than read Free. Private. Open source (MIT license).
