Changelog
- May 23, 2026description
Tab Organizer automatically sorts your open tabs into task-based groups — Development, Social, Shopping, Entertainment, News, Productivity, Research, AI Tools, and more. Features: ▎ - Smart task detection based on tab URL and title ▎ - Apply native Chrome tab groups with one click — color-coded by task ▎ - Search across all open tabs instantly ▎ - Close duplicate tabs automatically ▎ - View grouped tabs inside the popup ▎ - Click any tab to jump to it ▎ All processing is local — no data is ever collected or sent anywhere.
Tab Organizer keeps your browser Nice and Tidy. Click the icon to pop open a clean, searchable list of every tab in your window — then sort, group, save, or close them in one click. • Smart auto-grouping into 15 task categories: Development, Social, Shopping, Entertainment, News, Productivity, Research, AI Tools, Finance, Travel, Food, Gaming, Learning, Cloud, and Other. Hit Apply Groups to turn them into native, color-coded Chrome tab groups. • Auto-group as you browse (optional). New tabs slot into the right group on their own; tabs you've already grouped manually are left alone. • Named sessions. Save your current tabs as "Monday work" or "Vacation planning," restore them anytime, delete the ones you don't need. • Stale-tab rescue. A red badge on the icon counts tabs you haven't visited in a while; one click saves them as a session and closes them. • Custom rules. Add your own regex patterns and create your own categories with custom names, colors, and emoji. • Close duplicates. One click kills every duplicate tab in the current window. • Dark mode, synced across devices. • Pixel buddies (just for fun). Eight tiny pixel-art creatures — slime, ghost, creeper, robot, cat, pumpkin, bee, skeleton — live at the bottom of every page. Drag them around. Hit Dance Mode and they bounce chaotically across the viewport. Add a per-site blocklist for places you don't want them. Privacy: everything runs locally in your browser. No data is sent anywhere — your tabs, sessions, and rules stay on your device (synced across your own Chrome installs via Chrome's built-in sync).
