About

TestForge Recorder is a no-code UI testing tool built for development and QA teams. Record real user interactions on any web app, replay them automatically, and get full step-by-step reports with screenshots — all from a Chrome extension.

☁️ AZURE DEVOPS INTEGRATION
Connect to your Azure Test Plans with a Personal Access Token. After every test replay, push results directly to Azure DevOps in one click:
- Creates a Test Run in your Test Plan with full pass/fail results
- Attaches step screenshots to each test result
- Updates the linked Test Case work item status automatically
- Auto-creates Bug work items for every failed step — with the error message, selector, URL, and failure screenshot pre-attached
- Supports auto-push after every replay so your ADO board stays in sync without manual work

🎥 RECORD ANY WEB APP
Click Start Recording and interact with your app normally. Clicks, form inputs, dropdowns, file uploads, keyboard shortcuts, hover actions, and right-clicks are all captured automatically — no selectors to write.

✅ ASSERTIONS BUILDER
Insert assertions directly into your test flow while recording:
- Text present on page
- URL contains a value
- Element is visible or hidden
- Page load performance under N milliseconds

⏳ SMART WAITS
Wait for an element to appear, text to show up, or a URL change — with a configurable timeout. Works across page navigations.

🧠 AI SELF-HEALING SELECTORS
When a developer renames a CSS class or ID, TestForge automatically tries 7 fallback strategies — aria-label, text content, placeholder, name attribute, data-testid, title, and positional matching — before marking a step as failed. Tests keep running even when the UI changes.

✏️ STEP EDITOR
After recording, reorder steps with ↑ ↓ arrows, edit any selector, label, or value inline, and delete individual steps — before saving.

📊 DATA-DRIVEN TESTING
Use {{variables}} in your step values and supply a JSON dataset. TestForge runs the same scenario once per row and saves a separate report for each — ideal for testing login flows with multiple accounts or forms with many input combinations.

🎭 PLAYWRIGHT EXPORT
Convert any recorded scenario to a ready-to-run Playwright TypeScript .spec.ts file in one click. Drop it into your CI/CD pipeline without any manual rewriting.

🔁 SCHEDULED AUTOMATIC RUNS
Set any scenario to run automatically every N minutes in the background using Chrome's alarms API. A red FAIL badge appears on the extension icon if something breaks — no manual triggering needed.
