About

Vellum Assistant Browser Relay bridges your Vellum AI assistant to your live browser session. Once connected, the assistant can observe page content, navigate between pages, click elements, fill forms, and extract information — all through Chrome's built-in DevTools Protocol.

How It Works
1. Install the Vellum desktop app (vellum.ai)
  2. Click "Connect" in the extension popup
  3. The assistant can now see and interact with your active browser tab

The extension acts as a relay — it does not modify web pages, inject scripts into page content, or collect browsing data. All browser interactions are initiated by your assistant and executed through Chrome's debugger API.

Requirements
- Vellum desktop app installed (provides the native messaging host for local communication)
- A Vellum account (free or paid)

Features
- One-click connect with automatic credential bootstrap
- Support for both local (self-hosted) and cloud-managed assistants
- Multi-assistant switching when multiple assistants are running
- Pause/resume without losing credentials
- Auto-reconnect on transient disconnects

Privacy
This extension communicates only with your local Vellum desktop app (via Chrome's native messaging) and Vellum's servers (api.vellum.ai). It does not collect, store, or transmit your browsing history, page content, or personal data to any third party. See our privacy policy for details.
