About

TabTint makes it obvious which tab you're actually on.

Your active tab gets a clean, colored favicon treatment — pick from a circle, a corner dot, a ring, or a side stripe —
while every other tab quietly fades into the background. If you've ever lost your current tab in a wall of 40 open
  tabs, this fixes that.

No accounts. No tracking. No external servers. Everything runs locally in your browser.

  — WHAT IT DOES —

  • Marks your active tab with a colored favicon so you can spot it instantly
  • Dims the favicons on inactive tabs to reduce visual noise
  • Optionally shortens inactive tab titles so the active tab's label stands out
  • Updates live as you switch tabs or windows
  • Leaves the original favicon and title fully intact — when you disable TabTint, or switch away from a tab, everything
restores exactly as the site intended

  — ACTIVE TAB STYLES —

Choose how the active tab is marked:

  • Replace — a solid colored circle replaces the favicon
  • Corner dot — a small colored dot in the corner, favicon still visible
  • Ring — the favicon sits inside a colored circular ring
  • Side bar — a thin colored stripe on the left, favicon to the right

  — COLORS —

Nine built-in presets: Grey, Blue, Red, Yellow, Green, Pink, Purple, Cyan, Orange — plus a custom color picker if you
want something specific to match your setup.

  — INACTIVE TAB CONTROLS —

  • Favicon dim slider (0–100%) — fades inactive tab icons toward grayscale
  • Title shorten slider (0–100%) — truncates inactive tab titles; at 100% they collapse to a single dot, letting the
  active tab's full title dominate

  — HOW TO USE —

  1. Click the TabTint icon in your toolbar
  2. Flip the master toggle on
  3. Pick a color
  4. Pick an active-tab style
  5. Dial in the inactive tab sliders to taste

That's it. Your settings are remembered across browser restarts.

  — PRIVACY —

TabTint does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. It needs tab and scripting permissions to read which
tab is active and to render the favicon overlay on the page — nothing leaves your browser. No analytics, no telemetry,
   no ads.
