Xe : Focus Mode for X

About

Xe is a focus mode extension for X (Twitter) that lets you highlight any tweet — by account handle or keyword - while the rest of the feed fades away. Built for people who use X intentionally, not passively. No sign-in, no configuration beyond your own rules, no data leaving your browser.


  HOW IT WORKS

  ► Target by handle or keyword
  Add any X account handle and Xe spotlights their tweets as you scroll. Add keywords or phrases to focus on topics   
  that matter. Regex patterns are supported for advanced matching.

  ► Thread-aware focus
  When a highlighted tweet is part of a thread, Xe detects the connected replies and expands the focus region to      
  include the full conversation — not just a single tweet.

  ► Quick-add from the feed
  A small + button appears next to each tweet's timestamp. Tap it to instantly add that account to your focus list    
  without opening the extension popup.

  ► Three entrance animations
  Choose how the focus overlay appears: a clean fade, an iris wipe that expands outward from the tweet, or a spotlight
   effect where four panels slide in from the screen edges.

  ► Real-time updates
  Changes to your handle and keyword lists apply instantly — no page reload required.


  ZEN MODE

  ► Blur unwanted accounts
  Add handles to the Zen Mode list to apply blur, grayscale, and reduced opacity to their tweets — keeping them out of
   focus without hiding them entirely.

  ► Keyword-based dimming
  The same treatment applies to tweets containing specific keywords or phrases, giving you granular control over what 
  competes for your attention.

  ► Regex support in Zen Mode
  The same advanced pattern matching available in focus targeting works here too.


YOUR DATA STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE

Xe has no servers, no accounts, no analytics, and no third-party scripts. Everything runs locally in your browser.  

  • Settings (handles, keywords, preferences) are stored with Chrome's built-in sync storage — synced across your own 
  devices, never sent to any external service.
  • Usage statistics are stored locally only and never leave your machine.
  • Export your full configuration as a JSON file at any time. Import it on another machine or use it as a backup. No 
  cloud required.
