About

job-hunter ingest is a companion for the self-hosted job-hunter app. Click the toolbar button on any job posting and the extension captures the current page, strips out scripts and styling, and sends the cleaned HTML to a job-hunter server running on your own machine (default http://127.0.0.1:7777). job-hunter then parses the posting into a structured job record.

Nothing is sent to any third-party server. The destination is your local machine — you can change the address in the popup's settings if your server istens elsewhere. The popup shows a live status dot so you know the server is reachable before you send.

You need a running job-hunter instance (job-hunter serve) for this extension to do anything. It is useless on its own — it is purely a bridge to software you already run locally.
