About

UnEmbed is a browser extension that automatically replaces third-party video iframes (or embeds) with direct HTML links to the original content.

How it works: When you load a webpage with an embedded video player (such as YouTube, Vimeo, or Dailymotion), UnEmbed intercepts the iframe before it loads. Instead of rendering the player, it inserts a simple text link pointing to the video URL.

Use Cases:

Network Allow-lists: On restrictive networks (like corporate or educational environments), web proxies often block the domains required to load embedded players. UnEmbed prevents the page layout from breaking and allows you to access the video link directly.

Page Performance: By preventing heavy video players and tracking scripts from loading automatically, webpages consume fewer system resources and render faster.

Layout Fixes: Removes large, unplayable blank spaces or proxy block-pages from the middle of articles and forums.
