About
ZeroTrust Parent Guard Summary: A lightweight, "Zero Trust" parental control tool that blocks all web content by default, allowing access only to parent-approved domains. Description: Designed for parents who want to create a safe, "walled-garden" browsing environment for their children. Unlike traditional filters that try to block "bad" sites, ZeroTrust Parent Guard takes a more secure approach: it blocks the entire internet and only opens the sites you explicitly authorize. Key Features: Whitelisting Logic: Simply add a domain (e.g., google.com) to allow access to that site and all its subdomains. Blacklist Overrides: Specifically block subdomains (e.g., gemini.google.com) even if the main domain is whitelisted. Secure Parental Toggle: The "Allow/Block" button in the popup is protected by a Shift-key requirement to prevent children from easily modifying the whitelist. Privacy-First: This extension uses Chrome's modern declarativeNetRequest API to filter content locally on your device without tracking your browsing history. How to Use: Initial Setup: Open the extension "Settings" page to bulk-add your initial approved domains (one per line). Adding Sites on the Fly: Visit a new website you wish to approve. Click the extension icon to open the menu. The Parental Lock: To prevent kids from whitelisting without your permission but still make the extension fast and easy, you must hold the "Shift" key on your keyboard while clicking the "Allow This Domain" button. Instant Application: Once allowed, the page will automatically refresh, and the domain will be added to your permanent whitelist.
