ChatGPT only searches titles. DeepSeek lists thread names but not what's inside them. The good prompts you wrote last month are scattered across many tabs, and none of them talk to each other.

And one day the account gets suspended, the plan gets downgraded, the tab gets closed by accident — and months of conversation are gone, because they only ever lived on someone else's server.

ChatVault fixes both problems at once. A local copy of every chat, organized the way you organize the rest of your knowledge.

• Captured automatically
  Open ChatGPT or DeepSeek and just keep working. Conversations land in your local library while you chat — no copy-paste, no extension button to remember to press.

• Search that actually finds things
  Fuzzy matching, boolean operators (AND / OR / NOT), stemming, inline highlighting. Under 50 ms across ten thousand conversations.

• Tags as deep as you need
  Hierarchical labels like work/raven/db or writing/newsletter. Custom colors, unlimited nesting — yes, in the free version.

• Link across platforms
  Started a thread in ChatGPT, picked it up in DeepSeek? Connect them. The link is bidirectional and stays.

• A prompt library worth keeping
  Save prompts with {{variable}} slots. Insert them straight into any AI input box from a quick-pick.

• Bulk actions
  Multi-select with Shift-click. Tag, favorite or delete dozens of conversations at once.

• Three ways to use it
  Popup for a quick search. Side Panel to manage while you chat. Full-tab Dashboard for deep organization.

• Light and dark themes
  Follows system, or set it manually.

A platform only ships when we can capture every message reliably — text, code blocks, images and attachments. The two upcoming platforms above are wired in code but not enabled in this release; they will unlock in a future update.

PRIVACY, NOT AS A FEATURE
────────────────────────────

ChatVault never sends your data to any server we control. There is no sign-up, no telemetry, no analytics SDK, no crash reporter, no license check, no update beacon.

• Zero third-party servers
• Zero accounts
• 100% stored on your device, in your browser's IndexedDB

The only network calls ChatVault makes are same-origin requests back to the AI platforms you are already signed into — exactly the way their own UI talks to them — to fetch the conversation data your browser was already going to receive. The full list of hosts it can touch is in the manifest's host_permissions block, and that is the whole list.

You can wipe everything from the extension settings at any time. There is no "deletion request" form, because there is nothing for us to delete on our end.
