HOW IT WORKS

Most AI proposals lose because they're generic. Clients can tell. 
UpBidAI grounds every proposal in your indexed portfolio: your real 
past projects, case studies, and skills are pulled as context at 
generation time. The output reads like you wrote it, because your work 
is what shaped it.

The extension operates on Upwork directly. A floating launcher gives 
you access to the sidebar on any Upwork page. When you're on a job 
listing, open the sidebar, select a prompt preset, and generate. On the 
apply page, a Generate Proposal button appears above the cover letter 
field — click it, review, then paste it to the cover letter field with 
one tap.

WHAT IT DOES ON EACH PAGE

Every Upwork page
- Floating launcher (bottom-right) opens a sidebar with Profile, 
  Proposals tabs
- Auth-gated: works only when you're logged into UpBidAI

Job listings and search results
- Sidebar reads the current job from the page you're viewing
- Select your prompt preset and generate a proposal for the active job
- Copy the output or carry it directly to the apply page

Your Upwork profile page
- Syncs your full profile to UpBidAI in one click: name, title, 
  overview, skills, hourly rate, work history, and verified badge

Apply page
- Adds a proposal panel above the cover letter field
- Select prompt preset and generate without leaving the page
- If you've previously generated a proposal for this job, your draft 
  loads in the sidebar when you open the apply page

- At least one Upwork profile linked in the UpBidAI dashboard
- Portfolio items added

PERMISSIONS

This extension requests only what it needs:

- upwork.com access — the extension operates exclusively on Upwork. 
  No other sites are accessed.
- storage — your authentication token and job cache are stored locally 
  in Chrome's secure extension storage (chrome.storage.local), not in 
  web page storage.
- tabs — to detect which Upwork page you're on and activate the 
  correct extension behavior (job page vs. profile page vs. apply page).

No data is collected beyond what is necessary to generate your 
proposals. Your tokens never touch localStorage. No browsing history 
is read or transmitted.
