About

Watch any Japanese-audio video and read live English subtitles overlaid on the player. Works on YouTube, NicoVideo,
  TVer, Abema — and any other site that plays audio in a browser tab.

  How it works
  
  1. Click the extension button and sign in with your email (no password — we send you a one-time sign-in link).
  2. Open any video with Japanese audio.
  3. Hit "Start English subtitles." A small banner appears over the video as the audio plays.

  What's translated

  - Spoken Japanese is translated to English in roughly six-second chunks.
  - For videos on NicoVideo, TVer, and Abema, captions you generate are cached so the next viewer gets them instantly
  without re-translating.

  - Free: 30 minutes of translation per month.
  - Starter (SG$5/mo): 5 hours.
  - Pro (SG$15/mo): 20 hours.
  - Unlimited (SG$40/mo): 80 hours.

  Privacy
  
  - Audio chunks are forwarded to OpenAI's Whisper translation API and not stored on our side after translation
  completes.
  - We do not see or record the video itself, only the audio while you have subtitles running.
  - We do not track which pages you visit. The extension only acts when you press Start.

  Permissions
  
  - "Read and change all your data on all websites" — required to overlay subtitle text on whatever video you're
  watching. We only read the page when you press Start subtitles. 
  - "Tab capture" — required to capture the audio of the current tab for translation.
  - "Identity" — used for the one-tap sign-in flow that connects the extension to your mimisubs.com account.
