In the current release, MyTube Guard does not require an account and does not use analytics, advertising trackers, or cloud synchronization. Settings, rules, video metadata, and Dashboard Lock credentials remain in Chrome storage on your device. The extension does not sell or share user data.

MyTube Guard controls what appears in your YouTube interface. It does not prevent YouTube, your browser, or your network provider from recording activity.

**What is MyTube Guard?**

MyTube Guard is a privacy-first YouTube focus extension. It lets you filter distracting videos and page sections, organize hidden content, and keep your personal rules and video lists on your device.

**How do I filter a YouTube channel or topic?**

Use Quick Add Rule to create a channel-name, title-keyword, video-ID, tag, or description rule. Matching videos are hidden while Focus Mode and Rules On are enabled.

**How does MyTube Guard protect my privacy?**

In the current release, the extension works without an account, analytics, or cloud sync. Settings, rules, and viewing-related metadata remain in Chrome storage on your device and are not uploaded to Sopenu Lab.

**Why use Dashboard Lock?**

Dashboard Lock helps prevent casual access to your rules and personal Private, Saved, Quarantine, Watched, and Automatic views when you share a device. It does not replace operating-system or full-device security.

**Does MyTube Guard stop YouTube tracking or block video ads?**

No. MyTube Guard controls which content and interface sections appear on YouTube. It does not make browsing anonymous, stop YouTube or your browser from recording activity, or block advertisements inserted into video playback.

**How do I remove my stored data?**

Delete individual Dashboard items or rules using the available controls, or uninstall the extension to remove Chrome's locally stored extension data.
