Contacts for Nextcloud lets you reach your self-hosted contacts from any Chrome tab 
in seconds. Whether you need a phone number, want to check an upcoming birthday, or 
need to add a new contact on the fly — everything happens directly from the toolbar 
popup, no tabs to open, no web app to navigate.

- Instant search across all contacts by name, email, or phone number.
- Copy email addresses and phone numbers to the clipboard with one click.
- Pin up to 6 favourite contacts to the top of the list for quick access.
- Create, edit, and delete contacts — changes sync to your Nextcloud server immediately.
- Upcoming birthdays tab — see who has a birthday in the next 90 days with a live countdown.
- Birthday notifications delivered by Chrome on the day a contact's birthday arrives.
- Open any contact directly inside the Nextcloud Contacts web app with one click.
- PIN lock — protect the popup with a 4-digit PIN and a configurable session timeout.
- Offline support — edits are queued locally and synced automatically when you reconnect.

──── Privacy-first by design ────

- All contact data is stored locally in your browser, encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM.
- CardDAV requests go directly to your Nextcloud server. No proxies, no third-party APIs, 
  no analytics, no telemetry.
- The extension never reads or modifies any web page you visit.
- Your Nextcloud password is stored encrypted and never leaves your device.

- A self-hosted Nextcloud server with the Contacts app installed (any recent version).
- Chrome 110 or later.
