Voice Translator turns any video or audio playing in your browser into a live, spoken translation in your chosen language — perfect for YouTube videos, online courses, conferences, podcasts, or product demos that aren't in your native language.

HOW IT WORKS
• Click Start. The extension captures the audio of the current tab and streams it to OpenAI's Realtime Translation API.
• Within ~3 seconds you hear the translation through your speakers, with the original audio gently lowered in the background.
• Optional subtitles appear at the bottom of the page — drag them anywhere you like, resize the bar to fit your screen.
• Translation auto-stops after 90 seconds of silence to save costs.

BRING YOUR OWN OPENAI API KEY
This extension uses OpenAI's gpt-realtime-translate model directly from your browser. You provide your own API key, which is stored only in your browser and sent only to OpenAI. We do not run any backend servers and we do not collect any usage data.

COST
OpenAI charges $0.034 per minute. A 30-minute video costs roughly $1. We strongly recommend setting a monthly
spending limit on your OpenAI account.
