About

This extension is a privacy-focused two-factor authenticator (2FA) that uses the same encrypted vault format as Aegis Authenticator. Your authentication tokens are stored by user in a locally encrypted JSON file, giving you full ownership and control over your data while remaining compatible with existing Aegis backups and exports.

> Strong Encryption

All OTP secrets are protected using Aegis-compatible encryption. Before any data is written to disk, it is encrypted locally on your device using your password. The resulting file cannot be read without the correct password, helping protect your accounts even if the file is copied, uploaded, or intercepted.

Because encryption happens entirely offline, your secrets never need to be sent to external servers or cloud providers.

> Local Encrypted Storage

The extension stores all data in a local encrypted JSON file on disk instead of relying on proprietary cloud synchronization. This allows you to use any synchronization or backup solution you prefer to share the encrypted vault between multiple PCs and browsers. Since the file always remains encrypted, it can safely be synchronized or backed up using third-party services.

> Compatible with Aegis Backups

The extension supports encrypted backups generated by Aegis Authenticator. Existing Aegis users can continue using their current backup workflow and open those backups directly with the extension without migrating accounts manually.

> Optional File Handle Storage

For convenience, the extension can optionally remember file handles for previously opened vault files. This allows quicker reopening of your encrypted vault without manually selecting the file every time.

> Optional Session Password Storage

The extension can optionally remember the last successfully entered password during the current browser session. The password is stored only in browser session storage and is automatically cleared when the browser is closed or restarted. Passwords are never permanently stored on disk.

> Keyboard-Driven Workflow

The extension is designed for fast keyboard navigation and efficient workflows. Supported shortcuts include:

* Open the extension interface using browser extension shortcuts configured in the extension manager
* Search instantly using Ctrl + F or Command + F
* Navigate entries using Arrow Up and Arrow Down
* Copy OTP tokens using:
  * Double click
  * Enter while focused on the search box
  * Ctrl + C or Command + C

> Fast Fuzzy Search

The extension includes fuzzy search support for quickly finding accounts even in large vaults. Searches can match against:

* Account names
* Issuers
* Groups

This makes locating tokens fast and efficient, even with partial or approximate input.
