About

LectureFetch makes it easy to save online lectures for offline viewing, review, and archiving. Once enabled, the extension detects supported lecture streams in your browser and handles the capture process seamlessly in the background.

📖 How to Use
Follow these steps to capture and download your lectures:

1. Navigate to the Lecture
- Go to your university portal (e.g., Canvas, UCSD Podcast) or the direct link to the Lecture Podcast you wish to download.

2. Play the Video
- The extension monitors network activity in real time. In most cases, you must press Play to trigger the initial stream request.

3. Watch for the Detection
- The extension icon in your toolbar will show a colored badge with a number (e.g., "1").
- This indicates that a compatible stream has been detected.

4. Download
- Click the extension icon to open the popup.
- Review the detected Stream Candidates (usually the first one is fine).
- Click the Download button. The video will begin downloading as a standard MP4 file.

🌐 Using Custom Sites
LectureFetch allows you to manually enable additional supported domains.

To add a custom site:
1. Go to Settings / Custom Sites
2. Enter your university domain / lecture platform (example: canvas.ucsd.edu).
3. Grant permission when prompted.

Tip: Some lecture systems load media from separate subdomains (e.g., canvas.ucsd.edu and canvaskaf.ucsd.edu). Allowing the parent domain (like *.ucsd.edu) ensures proper detection.

✅ Current Supported Sites
- UCSD Podcast
- UCSD Canvas Gallery Media
- UCDavis Canvas Gallery Media

⚠️ Important: LectureFetch currently supports Kaltura-based lecture platforms only. Other video platforms (such as Panopto, YouTube, Vimeo, etc.) are not supported at this time.
