About

MetaPilot — On-Page SEO Inspector, by Pixellize

MetaPilot is a fast, privacy-first Chrome extension that gives you a complete on-page SEO audit of any web page in a single click. Whether you are an SEO specialist, a content marketer, a WordPress site owner, or a developer shipping a site to production, MetaPilot
tells you in seconds what search engines actually see — and what is broken, missing, or holding the page back.

Open the popup on any URL and MetaPilot scrapes the live DOM to produce a full SEO snapshot: title and meta description (graded against ideal length), canonical URL, robots directives, language, viewport, indexability, HTTPS, hreflang, word count, and a clean SEO score out of 100. Every issue is listed with severity so you know what to fix first.

Find broken links before Google does. The Links tab streams real HTTP status checks for every link on the page directly from a background service worker — color-coded chips show 200, redirects, 404s, 5xx errors, and timeouts as they come in. Filter by Internal, External, Nofollow, or Broken with one click. WordPress admin and login URLs are automatically excluded, so logged-in WP users don't see false 404s.

Audit every image on the page. MetaPilot lists each image in a clean table with a live thumbnail, alt-text status, source URL, file format (WebP, PNG, JPG, SVG, AVIF), and the real file size (KB / MB) fetched from response headers. Decorative images with alt="" are correctly handled. Broken images are flagged automatically. Filter by Missing alt or Broken to focus on what needs fixing.

Validate structured data the way Google does. MetaPilot parses JSON-LD @graph blocks, inlines @id references between nodes (just like the Rich Results Test), and shows each schema as an indented property tree. Per-type validation surfaces missing required fields for Article, BlogPosting, NewsArticle, FAQPage, Product, BreadcrumbList, WebPage, and more. Schemas are filtered by og:type so an article page shows only Article and FAQ schema — never the noise of site-wide Organization or Person definitions.

Preview your social sharing. The Social tab renders an Open Graph card the way Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter will see it, with full dumps of every OG and Twitter Card meta tag.

Built for speed and privacy. MetaPilot is a Manifest V3 extension with no analytics, no third-party calls, and no data collection. Everything runs locally in your browser. The only outbound requests are the HEAD/GET probes used to check the very links and images that are already on the page you are inspecting. Dark and light themes are included, with your preference remembered between sessions.

Whether you are auditing a single blog post, debugging a JSON-LD implementation, hunting down 404s, or prepping a site for launch, MetaPilot replaces five different SEO tools with one clean popup.
