After installing, set up Cmd+Q / Alt+Q on Extensions -> Keyboard shortcuts.

Simple Last Tab is a lightweight Chrome extension that turns your browser into an Alt‑Tab‑like switcher: with a single shortcut such as Alt + Q (that you can also change to cmd+q), it immediately returns you to the previously active tab or cycles through your most‑recently used tabs (using alt+s, where you can also define in Keyboard shortcuts).
Like other “switch to last tab” tools, it remembers recent tabs, so you can quickly jump back across windows without losing your place.

Unlike full‑blown tab managers, it focuses purely on quick switching; you can customize the hotkeys and that's it. That simple.
