About

Passlit Openbook shows you every company tracking you in real time — and blocks them automatically.

Every time you visit a website, dozens of companies silently collect data about you. Ad networks, data brokers, and retargeting platforms follow you across the web, building detailed profiles without your knowledge or consent. Most people have no idea this is happening.

Passlit Openbook makes the invisible visible.

WHY YOU NEED THIS

Your browsing data is worth billions. Companies like Google, Meta, Taboola, Criteo, LiveRamp, and hundreds of others collect it, package it, and sell it — without asking. Every page you visit, every article you read, every product you look at is logged, shared, and used to target you with ads and manipulate your online experience.

Passlit Openbook puts you back in control.

WHAT OPENBOOK DETECTS

Openbook identifies trackers across 6 categories:

- Ad Targeting — networks that follow you across the web to serve targeted ads
- Data Brokers — companies that buy, sell, and package your behavioral data
- Analytics — platforms that record your every click, scroll, and session
- Social — social media tracking pixels embedded across millions of sites
- Fingerprinting — tools that identify you without cookies, using your device characteristics
- Other — additional tracking infrastructure operating in the background

On a typical news site, Openbook detects 10 to 30 trackers. On high-traffic sites like Yahoo, CNN, or Fox News, it often detects 50 to 100+.

GLOBAL PRIVACY CONTROL

Passlit Openbook automatically injects a Global Privacy Control signal into every page you visit. GPC is legally recognized as a valid opt-out of data sale under:

- California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)
- Colorado Privacy Act (CPA)
- Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA)
- Connecticut Data Privacy Act
- Montana Consumer Data Privacy Act
- Oregon Consumer Privacy Act
- Texas Data Privacy and Security Act
- And several additional US state laws

Companies receiving the GPC signal are legally required to honor it as a do-not-sell request.

PRIVACY POLICY

Passlit Openbook does not collect your browsing history. All tracker detection happens entirely on your device. No browsing data is sent to Passlit servers. The only data transmitted is an anonymous count of trackers detected per site, used solely to improve detection accuracy.
