About

Tab Mix Meters is a Chrome Extension for local browser-audio analysis. Whether you are a musician, producer, video creator, podcaster, or student, this extension can help you visualize sound from a Chrome tab or a user-selected audio source!

The extension provides real-time meters for spectrum, spectrogram, waveform, loudness, stereo image, low-end energy, tempo, and piano-frequency analysis. All audio analysis runs locally inside the browser. Audio is not uploaded, recorded, or sent to any server.

Main Features:

Spectrum
View the frequency balance from 20 Hz to 20 kHz. This helps users understand bass, mids, highs, and overall tonal balance.

Spectrogram
Display frequency energy over time, with the newest audio appearing on the right. This is useful for seeing how frequencies change during playback.

Piano Frequency
A piano-key-aligned frequency spectrogram covering the C1–C8 range. It shows frequency energy mapped to piano-key positions. This is not a note-detection or transcription tool.

Waveform / Oscilloscope
View the time-domain waveform of the audio. Users can switch between Stereo, Left, Right, and Mono display modes.

Loudness / LUFS
Show Peak, RMS, Momentary LUFS, Integrated LUFS, and Overall LUFS estimates. These are browser-side estimates and are not certified broadcast-meter readings.

Stereo
Display stereo correlation and a vectorscope to help users observe stereo width, phase behavior, and mono compatibility.

Mid / Side
Show Mid and Side energy to help users understand center energy versus stereo width.

Tonal Balance
Analyze energy in broad tonal regions such as Sub, Low, Mid, Presence, and Air.

Low-End Focus
Focus on the 20–300 Hz range, including rumble, sub bass, body, and mud.

Clipping / True Peak Risk
Provide approximate clipping and peak-risk warnings to help users identify audio that may be too loud or distorted.

Tempo
Estimate BPM from rhythmic pulses. Best results come from music with a steady beat.

60s History
Display the last 60 seconds of loudness, peak, bass, and stereo-width movement.

Simple and Advanced Modes
Simple Mode is designed for users with little music-production experience. It focuses on easy-to-understand information such as volume, sound color, beat pulse, bass note estimate, and loudness safety.

Advanced Mode provides the full metering system, including Spectrum, Spectrogram, Piano Frequency, Waveform, Loudness, Stereo, Mid/Side, Tonal Balance, Low-End Focus, Tempo, and History.

Advanced modules can be expanded or collapsed. Collapsed modules reduce unnecessary visual processing.

Multilingual Interface

Tab Mix Meters supports:
English
Chinese
French
Japanese
Korean

English is the default language.

Privacy
Tab Mix Meters analyzes audio locally inside the browser.

The extension does not:
Upload audio
Record audio files
Store user audio
Collect browsing history
Collect account information
Collect personal identity information
Send analysis data to a server

Audio capture only starts after the user actively chooses a source through the Chrome permission interface.

Notes
LUFS, True Peak, Tempo, Bass Note, and Chord-related values are browser-side estimates.
This extension is not a certified broadcast loudness meter.
Piano Frequency shows frequency energy, not confirmed detected notes.
This extension is not an audio-to-MIDI or automatic transcription tool.
For better performance, users can close unused modules such as Piano Frequency or Spectrogram.
