Video Scriptful is a screen recorder and video editor that runs entirely inside Chrome. It is built for people who make product demos, software tutorials, onboarding videos and course content.

How it works?

1. Click the extension icon and choose a screen or browser tab to record.
2. Record your screen. The extension automatically captures your cursor movement, clicks and keyboard activity in the background.
3. When you stop recording, the editor opens automatically with your footage ready to edit.
4. Add automatic zoom around your clicks, highlight cursor interactions, blur sensitive areas, add captions, trim the timeline, adjust speed and mix in audio or voiceover.
5. Export as MP4 and download directly to your computer.

Everything runs locally in your browser. No files are uploaded to any server. No account is required.

Privacy*

This extension does not collect, transmit or store any personal data on external servers. All recording, editing and export happens locally in your browser. The only network request made is when you choose to download the English text-to-speech model from a public model repository (Hugging Face). The Turkish text-to-speech model is bundled with the extension and requires no internet access.

Permissions used*

- activeTab and tabs: required to detect which browser tab is being recorded and to open the recorder and editor pages
- storage: required to save your project data and settings locally in Chrome storage
- scripting: required to inject the content script that captures click, cursor and keyboard events on the recorded page
- desktopCapture: required to access the screen or tab stream for recording
- host_permissions (all URLs): required because the content script must be able to capture interaction events on any website the user records
