About
Selection Translate puts a "Translate" option in your right-click menu. Select any text on any page, right-click, and a small popover appears next to your selection with the translation. **Two translation paths, automatic:** - On Chromium 138 and newer, your selection is translated on-device using the built-in Translator API. Your text never leaves your machine. - When the on-device translator is unavailable, you can opt in to cloud fallback. Your selection is then sent over HTTPS to our AI service (ai-proxy-production-6b92.up.railway.app), which forwards it to OpenAI (gpt-4.1-nano). The result is returned to your browser. We do not store your text. Cloud fallback is OFF by default and requires explicit consent in the install onboarding tab (also toggleable from the popup).
