About
StashView — Developer Storage Inspector
Inspect, edit, and delete browser storage without opening DevTools.
StashView puts localStorage, sessionStorage, cookies, and IndexedDB right
in your Chrome toolbar — one click, instant results.
---
WHY STASHVIEW?
Every web developer has been there: you need to check a localStorage token,
clear a stale cookie, or peek at an IndexedDB record — and instead you're
digging through DevTools → Application → Storage → expand tree → wait.
StashView collapses all of that into a single toolbar click.
---
WHAT YOU CAN INSPECT
📦 localStorage
List, search, view, edit, and delete entries for the current page. JSON
values auto-expand into a collapsible, syntax-highlighted tree so you can
read nested data at a glance.
⚡ sessionStorage
Full read/write access to session-scoped storage, isolated per tab — useful
for debugging auth flows and ephemeral state.
🍪 Cookies
See every cookie for the current domain with all flags exposed: HttpOnly,
Secure, SameSite, domain, path, and expiry. Edit non-HttpOnly cookies
inline without writing a single console command.
🗄 IndexedDB
Drill down from databases → object stores → individual records in a clean
tree view. Inspect and delete records without opening the Application
panel.
---
JSON-FIRST VALUE HANDLING
StashView auto-detects JSON strings and renders them as interactive,
collapsible trees with One Dark syntax highlighting — strings, numbers,
booleans, and nulls are all colour-coded for fast scanning. Toggle between
parsed tree and raw string views. Copy any nested value to the clipboard in
one click.
---
BUILT FOR PRIVACY
StashView makes zero network requests. Your storage data is read from the
active tab and displayed locally in the popup — it never leaves your
browser. There is no telemetry, no analytics, no crash reporting, no
CDN-loaded scripts, and no external servers of any kind. The extension
works fully offline.
Permissions used:
• activeTab & scripting — to read storage from the page you're inspecting
• cookies — to list and edit cookies for the current domain
• storage — to persist your UI preferences (theme, last-used tab)
• tabs — to know which tab is active
---
ZERO SETUP
No account. No sign-in. No configuration required. Install, click the icon
on any page, and your storage data is right there.
---
OPEN SOURCE
StashView is open source. Read the code, verify the privacy claims, or
