Write consistent, length-correct image alt text and clean SEO filenames in seconds - without uploading a single image.

AltSmith is a fully offline composer. You fill a few descriptive slots (subject, attributes, brand/context, location) and it assembles concise alt text within your target length, plus a lowercase, hyphenated, junk-stripped filename like blue-ceramic-coffee-mug-handmade.jpg. Then it pastes the alt text straight into the focused field of your editor, with a one-click clipboard fallback.

It is NOT an AI image describer and never uploads your images. It is the fast, offline, length-correct assembly + paste step that turns a per-image chore into a few keystrokes.

HOW IT WORKS
Open the side panel, pick a template, fill the slots, watch the preview and counter update live, then Copy or Paste. The first time you paste or scan on a site, Chrome asks once for access to that site; granted per-site, never broadly.
