About
Every browser user knows the frustration: audio starts playing somewhere in your tabs and you have no idea where. Noisy Tabs solves this instantly — it shows every tab producing audio and gives you full control without leaving what you're doing. Features: - Mute or unmute any audio tab with one click - Solo a tab to silence all others, then restore them when you're done - Silent Mode automatically mutes every tab the moment it starts playing audio - Mute all or unmute all audio tabs from the popup in one click - Close audio tabs individually or all at once - Jump directly to any playing tab from the popup - Works across multiple windows, with tabs grouped by window - Right-click the extension icon for quick mute, unmute, and close shortcuts without opening the popup How each feature works: Mute and unmute — click the mute button next to any tab to silence it immediately. The tab stays muted until you unmute it manually, even if the audio stops and starts again later. Solo — click the crosshair button on a tab to mute every other audio tab and leave only that one playing. When all others are already muted, clicking it again unmutes them. Useful when you have music in one tab and a video autoplays in another. Silent Mode — toggle it on from the popup header and every tab that starts playing audio is muted the moment it does, including tabs you open later. Toggle it off and all tabs are unmuted so audio can play freely again. Useful during calls, focused work, or any time you want complete control over what makes noise. Mute all and unmute all — the speaker button in the popup header mutes every audio tab at once. If everything is already muted, it unmutes them all. A quick way to silence the browser without closing anything. Close audio tabs — remove a single noisy tab or close all audio tabs at once from the popup. The right-click menu on the extension icon also gives you quick access to close all without opening the popup. Jump to tab — click the arrow button on any tab row to switch directly to that tab and bring its window into focus. Useful when you want to pause or interact with something playing in the background. The popup also shows a live animated wave next to each playing tab so you can see at a glance what is actively producing audio versus what is muted. Your currently active tab is highlighted with an accent border. About permissions: Noisy Tabs requests access to your tabs to detect which ones are playing audio and to control their mute state. It also uses storage to remember your Silent Mode preference between sessions. No data is collected, no network requests are made, and nothing leaves your browser.
