About
Tired of the same celebrities filling your feed? Celebrity Blocker quietly
removes posts, headlines, video titles and comments that mention anyone on
your blocklist — across news sites, social feeds, YouTube, Reddit, and most
other pages.
It comes preloaded with 100+ of the world's most talked-about people, so it
works the moment you install it. Not a fan of the defaults? Add, remove, or
replace any name in seconds.
WHAT IT DOES
• Hides whole posts and cards — not just the name — so you get a cleaner feed,
not a page full of blanks.
• Two modes: Hide removes matching posts entirely, or Blur greys them out so
you can click once to reveal.
• Keeps filtering as you scroll — infinite feeds stay clear.
• Smart matching: whole words only ("Adele" won't match "Philadelphia"),
case-insensitive, and accent-insensitive ("Beyonce" matches "Beyoncé").
• A toolbar badge shows how many items were hidden on the current page.
MANAGE YOUR LIST
• Type a name and press Enter to add it. The same box searches your list as
you type.
• Remove any name with a single click.
• Restore the built-in list whenever you want.
• Your list syncs across the Chrome browsers you're signed in to.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Everything runs locally in your browser. Celebrity Blocker collects no data,
sends nothing to any server, and shows no ads. The only thing it stores is
your settings and name list, in Chrome's own extension storage.
GOOD TO KNOW
• Matching is text-based: a photo with no name in the caption won't be caught,
and nicknames need to be added yourself.
• It doesn't run on Chrome's own pages (chrome://…) or the Web Store.
Open the toolbar icon to get started, add the names you're done hearing about,
and get on with your day.Technical
