SheetCuts brings the Microsoft Office Alt-key ribbon experience to Google Workspace. If you've spent years using Excel or PowerPoint, muscle memory for shortcuts like Alt+H,B (Borders), Alt+H,A,C (Center Align), or Alt+N,R (Chart) is deeply ingrained. SheetCuts lets you use those exact sequences in Google Sheets and Google Slides — no relearning required. HOW IT WORKS Press Alt on any Google Sheets or Google Slides page. A key-tip overlay appears showing available shortcuts. Press the next key to drill into a submenu, or complete an action. Press Escape at any time to cancel. GOOGLE SHEETS — SUPPORTED RIBBON TABS • Alt+H — Home: Font, alignment, number format, borders, fill color, text color, format painter, insert/delete rows & columns, hide/unhide, freeze panes, tab color, and more • Alt+N — Insert: PivotTable, Chart, Link, Comment, Note, Checkbox, Dropdown • Alt+M — Formulas: AutoSum (SUM), Show Formulas, Named Ranges • Alt+A — Data: Sort (A→Z, Z→A, dialog), Filter toggle, Clear filter, Text to Columns, Remove Duplicates, Data Validation, Group/Ungroup, Hide/Show Detail • Alt+R — Review: Spell Check, New Comment, New Note, Show All Comments, Protect Sheet • Alt+W — View: Formula Bar toggle, Gridlines toggle, Zoom, Freeze Panes, Record/View Macros, New Window • Alt+F — File: New, Open, Save, Make a Copy, Print, Export/Download, Version History GOOGLE SLIDES — SUPPORTED RIBBON TABS • Alt+H — Home: Clipboard, font formatting, alignment, slide layout, shapes, arrange, and more (Additional tabs coming soon) WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT • Key-tip overlay — visual guide shows available keys at every step, so you don't need to memorize everything upfront • No configuration — works immediately on any Google Sheets or Slides page • Stays out of the way — overlay only appears after you press Alt, and never interferes with normal typing
Work in Google Sheets and Google Slides at Excel and PowerPoint speed — without relearning a thing. If you've spent years in Microsoft Office, your hands already know the moves: Alt, H, B for borders. Alt, N, R for a chart. Alt, H, S, F for shape fill. Then you switch to Google Workspace and all that muscle memory stops working. SheetCuts gives it back. Press Alt in Google Sheets or Slides and a key-tip overlay appears — the same ribbon hints you know from Excel and PowerPoint. Type the letters and the action fires. No hunting through menus, no reaching for the mouse, no new system to learn. It's the Office keyboard experience, right inside Google. HOW IT WORKS Tap Alt and a clean overlay shows every key available for the current ribbon tab. Keep typing to drill in — Alt then H then B reveals the borders options — and the instant you land on an action, it runs. Because every step shows you what's next, there's nothing to memorize up front: you discover shortcuts as you work. EVERYTHING IN THE RIBBON — 169 SHORTCUTS IN GOOGLE SHEETS • Home (Alt+H) — bold, italic, fills, font and text color, borders, number formats, merge, alignment, wrap text, insert and delete cells, rows, and columns • Insert (Alt+N) — charts, tables, links, comments, notes, checkboxes, dropdowns • Formulas (Alt+M) — AutoSum, named ranges, show formulas • Data (Alt+A) — sort, filter, text to columns, remove duplicates, data validation, group and ungroup • Review (Alt+R) — spelling, comments, protect sheet • View (Alt+W) — freeze panes, gridlines, zoom, formula bar • File (Alt+F) — new, open, make a copy, print, download, version history IT WORKS IN GOOGLE SLIDES TOO Most shortcut extensions stop at Sheets. SheetCuts brings PowerPoint-style Alt-key shortcuts to Google Slides as well — text formatting, alignment, arrange and order, duplicate, shape fill, and full keyboard-driven color pickers, including typing a custom hex code without ever touching the mouse. POWER FEATURES • F4 repeats your last action — apply the same format down a column in a flash. • Shift+Space and Ctrl+Space expand a reference to a full row or column while you're editing a formula, exactly like Excel — and F4 toggles the $ anchors. WHO IT'S FOR Analysts, FP&A and finance teams, consultants, accountants, and anyone who builds spreadsheets and decks all day and misses Excel and PowerPoint's keyboard speed. If you've leaned on power tools like Macabacus or think-cell in Office, you'll feel right at home — SheetCuts brings that same keyboard-first, ribbon-driven workflow to Google Sheets and Slides. PRICING Start with a 14-day free trial — no credit card required. After that it's $6/month or $49/year, the most affordable option in its class, and you can cancel anytime. PRIVACY FIRST SheetCuts runs only on Google Sheets and Google Slides. It processes your keystrokes locally and never reads, stores, or transmits the contents of your spreadsheets or slides. Full policy at sheetcuts.app/privacy. Have a feature request or hit a bug? Email [email protected] — a real person reads every message, and SheetCuts ships updates regularly.
