About

OpenCharts Web Clipper

Save anything from the web directly into OpenCharts Notes. The OpenCharts Web Clipper is a Chrome extension that turns any webpage into structured, searchable notes — with AI smarts built in.

5 Clip Modes
• Full Page — Extract and clip an entire article or webpage as clean Markdown, with metadata (title, author, date, site name) auto-detected from Open Graph, LD+JSON, and meta tags.
• Selection — Highlight text on a page and clip just that portion.
• Highlights — Enter an interactive highlighting session (via side panel) with 5 color options (yellow, green, blue, pink, purple). Annotate each highlight with personal notes. Highlights persist across page revisits using XPath-anchored serialization.
• Screenshot — Capture the visible viewport or drag-select a custom region. Screenshot history is saved locally for quick reuse.
• Image — Right-click any image on a page and save it to your notes via the context menu.

AI Actions
Run AI on clipped content before saving — summarize, extract key takeaways, or pull out action items. You can also enter a custom prompt (e.g., "Extract all statistics"). Results can replace, prepend, or append to your clip. AI also auto-classifies pages to suggest tags.

Templates
Apply built-in or custom Markdown templates with {{variable}} placeholders (title, author, URL, content, tags, etc.). Templates auto-match based on URL patterns and Schema.org types. Manage custom templates from the Options page.

Flexible Destinations
Search your existing notes with fuzzy search and clip into them — or create a new note automatically. Choose where content is inserted: append, prepend, or after a specific heading. Supports both personal and team organization workspaces.

Batch Clip
Clip from multiple open tabs at once. Select tabs from a list, optionally apply a template, and clip them all to the same destination in one operation.

Offline Support
Clips are automatically queued when you're offline and retried when connectivity returns (background alarm checks every 30 seconds).

Keyboard Shortcuts
• Ctrl+Shift+O — Open clipper popup
• Ctrl+Shift+H — Toggle highlight mode
• Ctrl+Shift+S — Capture viewport screenshot
• Ctrl+Shift+L — Quick-clip current selection to last-used destination (no popup needed)

Clip History
Browse your recent clips with source, destination, and timestamp — all stored locally.
