NetSuite CSV Template Generator (Chrome Extension) is a lightweight Chrome extension that automatically builds a ready-to-download CSV template from the NetSuite record you’re currently viewing.

When you open a record (e.g., Purchase Order, Vendor Bill, Journal Entry, Sales Order, Invoice, Customer, Employee, Vendor, etc.), the extension detects the record type and mode:

- View mode (saved record): exports a CSV with field headers + current values, including sublist/line values. Useful for generating a template with examples or values for testing.

- Edit or Create mode: exports a CSV with headers only (blank rows), so you can use it as a clean import/template file.

What it includes:

Body fields (main record fields) as CSV columns  
Sublists/lines (like Items, Expenses, Line Splits) as additional CSV sections  
Optional output formatting like section headers, and controls to include/exclude sublists

Why it’s useful:

Quickly generate a consistent CSV template for imports, audits, data review, or sharing record “shape” with teammates—without manually copying field names.

Works directly from the NetSuite UI: no SuiteScript deployment required.

Security notes:

The extension does not run automatically in the background, does not modify the page, and does not interact with other tabs or websites. No data is transmitted to external servers; the extracted data is used locally in the popup to build a downloadable CSV file for the user.

The host permissions are limited to the NetSuite/Oracle domains where the feature is intended to operate, and are used solely to enable the user-requested CSV generation on those pages.
